The 13th Five-Year Plan for Energy Technology Innovation was issued and gathered five major topics

 In order to practice the strategic thought of "four revolutions and one cooperation" in energy, implement the overall requirements of the energy development plan, further promote the energy technology revolution, and give play to the leading role of scientific and technological innovation in comprehensive innovation, the National Energy Administration has organized the preparation of the "13th Five-Year Plan for Energy Technology Innovation", which is now issued.

The plan proposes that focusing on the major needs of the development of China's energy industry during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, focusing on promoting the energy technology revolution, focusing on the formation of five major energy science and technology topics, and classifying each technical field according to a batch of application promotion, a batch of demonstration tests, and a batch of concentrated research. There were 70 key research projects, 48 demonstration experiments, 31 application and promotion projects, and 149 key tasks.

The five topics include clean and efficient fossil energy technology, new energy power system technology, safe and advanced nuclear power technology, strategic energy technology, and energy basic material technology.
