"New material technology maturity grade classification and definition" national standard officially released! Three stages and nine levels!

Recently, the "GB/T37264-2018 New material technology Maturity Level classification and Definition" organized by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has been reviewed and approved by the State Administration of Market Supervision and Administration and the National Standardization Administration Committee and will be officially implemented on July 1, 2019.

 

The technology maturity evaluation method originated in the 1970s, and has been widely used in the International Organization for Standardization (ISO), the National Aeronautics and Space Administration of the United States, the Audit Office, the Department of Defense, the Department of Energy, the Department of Defense of the United Kingdom and Australia, the European Space Agency and other departments and organizations. At the beginning of this century, China began to try out technology maturity evaluation in the fields of space vehicles, aircraft and engines. In recent years, some domestic industries have also carried out research on technology maturity evaluation methods, and have been applied in the fields of energy conservation and emission reduction, information technology and so on.

 

Based on the evaluation standards of technology maturity in other fields, the Classification and Definition of technology Maturity of New Materials fully considers the actual situation of materials at various stages from laboratory development to industrial batch production, and divides the technology maturity of new materials into nine levels in three stages: laboratory, engineering and industrialization. At the same time, it defines the classification of maturity level conditions, classification basis, decision rules and so on.

 

The release and implementation of the standard will judge the stage of the development of specific new material products through a unified standard, which can provide a scientific basis for the government to formulate policies and plans, guide the healthy development and optimization of the new material industry, and also provide a corresponding decision-making reference for social investment, production departments, etc. to enter the field of new materials, and users to select materials. It will play an active role in accelerating the development of new material technology and industry in our country.


 The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the State published the "New material technology maturity grade classification and definition" national standard (publicity deadline January 18, 2018), which stipulates the terminology and definition of new material technology maturity, grade classification and judgment rules, which will be applicable to the evaluation of new material technology maturity. Among them, the classification and requirements are as follows:
