Jinan, November 4 (Reporter Li Xin) Jinan old and new kinetic energy conversion pilot zone Advanced materials industry high-end seminar was held in Jinan, Shandong province on November 4. Konstantin Novoselov, winner of the 2010 Nobel Prize in Physics, and more than 100 experts and scholars in related fields at home and abroad have jointly researched the development and application of graphene industry.

Graphene is a new nanomaterial with the thinnest, strongest and strongest electrical and thermal conductivity found by the scientific community, and is also known as a "miracle material".

Konstantin Novoselov, 2010 Nobel Prize winner in Physics and professor at the University of Manchester, introduced the current cutting-edge science of graphene development in his speech. He said that at present, graphene has begun to be commercially used in optoelectronic applications, optical sensors, adaptive contact lenses, touch screens and other aspects. It is hoped that Jinan can combine its own industrial characteristics and pillar industries to conduct graphene research and development and application.

Novoselov also revealed that combining graphene and other two-dimensional materials, customizing material properties according to needs, and building composite materials with a wide range of functions and properties from scratch is one of the priorities of future research.

"Materials are the foundation of industry, and without them, even the most advanced designs and ideas are difficult to realize." Ji Peide, director of the Jinan Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, said at the seminar that Jinan has clearly regarded the advanced material industry as a key breakthrough field, and strives to build a base for the incubation, transformation and industrialization of regional advanced material scientific research results, and increase the research and development of cutting-edge materials such as graphene to promote the industrialization and commercial application of graphene.

Tan Wei, deputy secretary-general of the Jinan Municipal Government, also said that the advanced materials industry has been established as one of the five leading industries in Jinan's new and old kinetic energy conversion pilot Zone, and the whole chain innovation of basic research, technological research, and transformation of results into industrial applications has been carried out, so as to attract graphene upstream and downstream enterprises and talents to gather in the pilot zone, and is accelerating the creation of the "ene Valley" park.

With the development of graphene research and technological progress in China, the downstream applications of graphene will gradually expand in the future, and the industry will enter a period of rapid development. Wang Xudong, director of the Beijing Graphene Industry Innovation Center and president of the Beijing Graphene Technology Research Institute, suggested that in order to develop industrial clusters for new materials such as graphene in Shandong, there must be a complete systematic plan to build a complete industrial ecosystem including technology research, talent provision, seed enterprise incubation, industrial parks, and peripheral service cooperation funds.

Chi Chao, general manager of Shandong Transportation Industry Development Fund, said that the fund will invest in the construction of Shandong International Graphene Industrial Park, which will include technology research institute, science and technology innovation center, seed incubation park, industrial development park and other projects, and strive to build Jinan into a graphene industry gathering place.

It is reported that the seminar was sponsored by the Management Committee of Jinan Old and new Energy Conversion Pilot Zone, Beijing Graphene Technology Research Institute, and Shandong Transportation Industry Development Fund. Co-organized by Beijing Advanced Carbon Materials Industry Promotion Association, China International Graphene Resources Industry Alliance and Beijing Aeronautical Materials Research Institute of AVIC.
